On February 18, 1978, Maggie McNamara committed suicide by overdosing on barbiturates at the age of 49. She had been working as a typist and writing scripts at the time of her death.

Margaux Hemingway

On July 1, 1996, Margaux Hemingway died of a barbiturate overdose at the age of 42. Her death was later ruled a suicide. Many members of her family have taken their own lives, including her grandfather, Ernest Hemingway.

Nafisa Joseph committed suicide by hanging on July 20, 2004, at the age of 25. She was reportedly upset about her fiance's behavior during the time prior to her death.

Woo Seung-yeon

On April 27, 2009, Woo Seung-yeon committed suicide by hanging at the age of 25. She had reportedly been treated for depression shortly before her death.

Charlotte Dawson

Charlotte Dawson committed suicide on February 22, 2014, at the age of 47. She had attempted to take her own life two years earlier after receiving massive amounts of abuse on Twitter.

Daul Kim

On November 19, 2009, Daul Kim committed suicide by hanging at the age of 20. Her final blog post entry read, "Say hi to forever."

Gia Allemand

Gia Allemand died in the hospital on August 14, 2013, two days after she attempted suicide by hanging. The 29-year-old TV star was reportedly distraught over her belief that her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, had cheated on her.

Yu-ri Kim

On April 18, 2011, Yu-ri Kim committed suicide by consuming poison at the age of 21.

L'Wren Scott

On March 17, 2014, model and designer L'Wren Scott committed suicide by hanging at the age of 49. She had recently split up with her longtime boyfriend, Mick Jagger.
